How Naturalista's Can Rock Straight Hair in the Summer

So, I know I am going against the grain a little with this post, but sometimes you gotta do what you feel and sometimes I like to wear my hair straight, even in the summer. Now, I know what you're thinking, "she's insane!" But if you are a naturalista like me, sometimes the curls just don't work for you all the time. I have been wearing my hair in faux locs for the past few months and once I took them out to begin wearing my natural curls, the curls weren't curling the way I wanted. I was becoming very frustrated, which is a normal emotion I typically have with my hair and one day I just decided to straighten it. And. I. liked. it. Of course with the temperature being in the 90's now plus working out 2-3 times a week, the straight hair doesn't last and so after a few days I braid it up and take it down the next day for a wavy look, another look I also enjoy wearing.

With that being said, my hair doesn't get as straight as I would like when I do it, so there are a few products I rely on to help the process along. These products have ingredients that will help activate any straightening tool. I have tried these three main products to achieve straighter hair and who knows, maybe you can too.

Beautiful Textures Naturally Straight Shampoo and Conditioner

You can find Beautiful Textures at Walmart, Target and of course your local beauty supply store.

Kerafena Smoothing System Shampoo and Conditioner

Kerafena is actually a professional hair care line that can only be found at hair salons, and so you can only purchase from there. No, over the counter.

Honey Blow Out

This product is a little different. It's not a shampoo or conditioner, rather a prepoo that you use prior to using your regular shampoo and conditioner. Btw, it's made of real honey.
