Massages are often looked at as a luxury and while it's understandable if you're on a budget, it is important to note that they are great for your overall wellbeing. I personally enjoy massages and have had great experiences. It's always good when you have a masseuse who really pays attention to your needs and knows what makes you feel good.

While it relaxes you and takes away stress, it also provides great health benefits. Some of these health benefits are: lowering your blood pressure, headache relief and muscle pain.

Having low blood pressure reduces your risk of a heart attack, stroke, and other serious illnesses. It has been proven that consistent massage therapy can lower your blood pressure and increase circulation in the body.

Headache Relief

A large number of the U.S. population suffers from migraines and massage therapy has been an excellent way to reduce that. Researchers from The Annals of Behavioral Medicine did a study which showed that participates who received massages slept better and had fewer headaches than those who didn't participate. 

Muscle pain

Getting massages releases endorphins that act as pain relievers. It will loosen up your muscles to prevent stiffness while also improving your posture over time. 

These are only a few popular benefits of getting a massage. However, before you go to a masseuse, make sure to ask your doctor if massages are right for you. If you have any fractures, burns, bleeding disorders or anything that is severe and can cause more damage, then you may want to wait.
