The Amazing Way Meditation Changed My Way of Thinking

The last two weeks I have been practicing meditation. I've always wanted to try it, but after reading the book The Secret, I decided to finally do it and make it a daily habit. Every morning, I meditate, before actually starting my day. I recite positive words to myself about myself and who I want to be. (I even did the Being Mary Jane thing and posted those words on sticky notes around my apartment.)

Why?

I decided to try meditation for many reasons. One being that I deal with anxiety and I get stressed out really easily. I wanted to be able to have control over my mind, meaning my thoughts, and not get so worked up over things that are, at the end of the day, minuscule. By starting each day with positive thoughts, my day goes a lot smoother.

Results 

As I stated above, it's only been two weeks, however, I can say my way of thinking has changed. Instead of being overly anxious about something or thinking negatively about what could happen, I start thinking positive thoughts and I feel better. Like my girl SZA said...

With that being said, I still have moments, but I now know to combat those moments with positivity rather let the negative thoughts fester in my mind. I recommend meditation for anyone. All you need is 3-5 minutes out your day to just concentrate on you and I guarantee you will feel a difference.
